On May 16, 2017, Leonard R. Cashman was elected to serve as a Director of both Bar Harbor Bank & Trust and its parent company, Bar Harbor Bankshares (NYSE MKT: BHB).
Mr. Cashman is an owner and partner of C.O. Properties, a real estate holding company based in New Hampshire. For about 25 years, Mr. Cashman worked in the whole sale food industry throughout New England, rising to the position of Vice President and General Manager at P&C Foods, Inc. Mr. Cashman has also owned a car wash in Lebanon, New Hampshire; been involved in the marketing of specialized group medical insurance products; and in the early 1990s, he was one of the founders of Landmark Bank in Lebanon, NH. In 1997, Landmark Bank was purchased by Lake Sunapee Bank Group and Mr. Cashman joined the Board of Directors. During his 20 years as a Director of Lake Sunapee Bank Group, Mr. Cashman was an active committee member, serving on the loan committee, executive committee and chair of the compensation committee.
A life-long resident of New England, Mr. Cashman and his family moved to Hanover, NH in 1975. He is an avid sportsman and over the years coached school baseball teams, served as president of the Hanover Hockey Association, and for two years ran the Norris Cotton Cancer Center golf tournament for Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center.
