MAINE IS BEAUTIFUL THIS MONTH
august is a busy month for us ancients.

Giva and Phil's poem and cartoon book Bogey, the Golf Bug is published and available for purchase on Amazon.com. Its a poem about a nine hole golfing adventure by Birdie and Scratch as told by Bogey.  Giva wrote the poem, and Phil Illustrating it with cartoons. It is marketed by Barnes and Noble Book Stores.  In the masthead, Scratch, one of the characters in Bogie is eyeing the hole on the green like the pros.
Giva and Phil will be signing books in the gallery August 20th at 5:00 during the artist reception.

On the Edge, a play performed by Dennis Damon will be showing in two performances, August 30th and 31st at 8:00 PM  at The Neighborhood House in Northeast Harbor, ME. It is written by Eva Murray, with 20 paintings by Phil depicting year round living on Maine's offshore islands..  The story is told by actor Denis Damon, playing the part of a lobster man who lives on one of the offshore islands. At present there are only 15 remaining all year communities. Music is composed and sung by Schooner Fare,  very popular New England musicians. A unique part of the performance is Rob Snyder, the new president of the Island Institute, will be answering audience questions about living on the islands after the show.
The show is being  televised by award winning Jeff Dobbs, of Dobbs Productions, as a documentary for  Maine and National public television.

Our next guest exhibit in the gallery will feature paintings and sculpture by one past exhibitor, and for us, two new artists. The show will be from August 18th
through August 31st. There will be a reception to meet the artist at 5:00 PM on Tuesday the 20th. Our featured guest artists are R. Scott Balz, Allison Hill,
and Gay Paratore.
