August was a whirlwind, and now for a little slower pace.
The performance art play "On the Edge" was a success beyond all expectations! Dennis Damon did a stellar performance which had the audience mesmerised. It was a full house for both performances.
Eva's script succinctly told the story of all year Island living, particularly on Matinicus island, 20 miles off the coast of Maine. Phil's paintings of island living completed the story . Very little was left to the imagination. In case you missed it, photos of the performance and a selection of Phil's paintings are shown below.
Rob Snyder, the new president of the Island Institute, answered many questions from the audience about problems and solutions for sustaining future island populations.
The show was televised by award winning Jeff Dobbs, of Dobbs Productions, as a documentary for Maine and National public television.
