Southwest Harbor Public Library Presents: October Kids Events

 


Join us at the Southwest Harbor Public Library for a variety of October activities for kids, including Halloween Cookie Decorating, a Frankentoys Workshop, Two Sentence Horror Stories, and our annual Book Trick or Treat. The events are open to a range of ages, with some requiring registration.

 Halloween Cookie Decorating: Kids of all ages and their families are welcome to this drop-in Halloween cookie decorating event! Weather permitting, this will take place on the front lawn on Wednesday, October 15th from 3:30-4:30 p.m., or while supplies last. No registration is required. https://tinyurl.com/3pe8kk2u. 

Frankentoys: Ready to “re-engineer” some toys? Kids 10+ are invited to chop, saw, hammer, tape, glue and sew old toys into monstrous creations! Wednesday, October 22nd from 3:30-4:30 p.m. Registration is required. https://tinyurl.com/mrx6fkkz. 

Two-Sentence Horror Stories: Teens and Tweens 12+ are invited to this spooky writing workshop and story contest Wednesday, October 29th from 3:30-4:30 p.m.. Come create and share your scary short story for the chance to win a prize. Registration is required. https://tinyurl.com/ykjnpp7k. 

Book Trick or Treat: Free books for babies, kids, and teens on Friday, October 31st from 1:00-5:00 p.m. Show off your costume, and choose a free book! Can’t make it on the 31st? Stop on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. No registration required. https://tinyurl.com/mpdapw6y. 

Storytimes continue weekly: Baby Storytimes 10:00-10:30 a.m. Wednesdays; and Family Storytimes 10:00-10:30 a.m. Fridays.
