Calling all bakers! Island Connections invites you to join us for our ‘1st Annual Sugar Showdown: A Sweet Celebration of Community and Confections’ from 5-7pm Saturday, February 10th, at the Atlantic Oceanside in Bar Harbor.
Whether you’re a seasoned pro or a passionate home baker, Island Connections is on the lookout for bakers of all levels to showcase their talents in three exciting categories: Whoopie Pie, Sweet Surprise, and Showstopper. Compete for a chance to win the hearts of our attendees and the coveted 'Community Favorite Award.' In addition to public voting, our expert judges will award 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes. General admission will be $10 per person or $30 per family, granting access to a variety of dessert samples from all three categories. Vote for your favorites, bid on a Showstopper piece in the accompanying auction, and raise a toast at our cash bar. All proceeds for this event will go directly toward Island Connections’ mission of providing free transportation and services to seniors and people with disabilities, enhancing their independence and quality of life. “There is so much love involved in what we do, so a sweet Valentine’s Day themed event feels just right,” said Executive Director Carissa Tinker.
