News from the Directors Board Meeting 4.3.13

Island Housing Trust
Guest speaker and Island Housing Trust Executive Director, Alyne Cistone, described the non-profit's mission to create permanently, affordable workforce housing opportunities for families and individuals who live and work on Mt. Desert Island through a "shared equity approach" and working with public and private partners.

For more on affordable home ownership and rental programs, visit the Island Housing Trust website: http://islandhousingtrust.org/index.html or contact Alyne at 288-4496 or director@islandhousingtrust.org.

General Manager
The Board is happy to welcome Cynthia Crow as the new General Manager of the Chamber.  Cynthia is working to organize the visitors' information center for summer and assisting the volunteer Board with the organization's administration.

This spring, when the office opens, we'll invite the community to an open house where you can meet Cynthia, talk to members of the Chamber Board and learn about advertising opportunities for your business or non-profit.  If you have an event for our Upcoming Events calendar send it to Cynthia at: info@acadiachamber.com and she will post it for you.

New Board Members
The Board is grateful to Christina Butler, Butler Marine Insurance, and returning Chamber member, Jim King, Lindenwood Inn, for joining the Chamber's Board.  The Board still has one empty seat if anyone else has the time or interest to serve.

Park Passes
This year, the Chamber will sell Acadia National Park seven day Park passes from the Visitor's Information Center at Harbor House.  If you have any questions about the program, call Cynthia at: 244-9264.

The Chamber will host a Candidate's Night for the voters of Southwest Harbor on Thursday, April 25 at 6:30pm at the Fire Station on Main. St.

The Chamber is combining its public and private blogs into one which you can access on the website.  If you want the convenience of reading the blog in your e-mail without having to click on an additional link, you can become a follower from the blog's homepage: http://blog.acadiachamber.com/ and updates to the blog will be sent directly to your e-mail.  We welcome your comments.
